The October SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 10 Ultra in the US comes with firmware version N98*USQS3FVI7. The phone isn’t getting any new features or improvements with this release. Samsung is only seeding this month’s vulnerability fixes to the phone. Samsung began rolling out the December SMR (Security Maintenance Release) to its devices a few days back. The company was a little late to the party by its standards. In recent years, it has made a habit of releasing a new SMR even before we step onto the new month. But it hasn’t lived up to these standards in the past couple of months, likely because it has been focusing on releasing Android 13 updates to eligible Galaxy devices....

Google Keep for Wear OS has received a couple of updates in the last weeks, including two new tiles for sunset/sunrise and favorite contacts. The Keep app on Android devices also got a dual-pane view. Google is now releasing an update to the notes feed to give it a modern look. It also increase the preview of messages. The update continues the Material You redesign that was rolled out to Wear OS 3 in September....

When editing an Office Word file on Google Docs, you will see a blue box next to the file name. The box appears there the entire time you work on it will highlight that it’s a “.DOCX” file, i. e. an Office-formatted file. But if Docs detects any compatibility issue, it will add a warning symbol (a triangle with an exclamation mark inside) to the box. Hovering the cursor over the box will tell you that the file has compatibility issues....

YouTube TV has recently lost the Bally Sports regional sports networks (though that’s more Sinclair’s fault than YouTube TV’s, since they are removing the networks from all the streaming services). Then they almost lost the NBC networks, which is roughly a fifth of YouTube TV’s channel offerings. However, NBC decided to step up and not force YouTube TV to include Peacock with its membership. And surprisingly, the price did not go up....
