The European Union has been trying to set a standard for devices offered in the region. From 2024, all devices sold in the EU must have USB-C as a common charging standard (there are exceptions). This has significant benefits, including reduced e-waste and lower costs for customers to purchase new charges. The US senators also want to implement such a standard in the country. According to Engadget (via The Verge), US senators Ed Markey, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders asked the Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to develop a “comprehensive strategy” for a common charging standard....
