As of this writing, the first software update for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra is rolling out in a handful of countries in Asia and Africa, including Egypt, Afghanistan, and the UAE. The OTA (over the air) rollout should soon cross borders in other regions as well. If you’re one of the very few people globally currently holding a Galaxy S22 phone, you can be on the lookout for an update with firmware version S90xEXXU1AVB3 in the coming days....

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are receiving the new update with firmware version G93FXXU8EVG3. The OTA (over the air) package for the duo weighs a modest 31MB, a screenshot shared by GalaxyClub shows. This is the first update for the phones since November 2020 when they picked up the September 2020 security patch. The latest release doesn’t bring a new patch. And, of course, the phones aren’t getting a new Android version either....

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is picking up the latest security update across all major carrier variants in South Korea, including SK Telecom, KT Corporation, and LG U+. The new firmware version is F916NKSU1DUI4. Note that the build number may vary slightly in other regions. As for new features and improvements, this update does seem to bring some goodies apart from the vulnerability fixes for this month. Unfortunately, we don’t have a changelog handy to confirm the contents....

Samsung Display, the Korean conglomerate’s display manufacturing arm, showcased Eco2 OLED Plus technology at the recently-concluded K-Display 2022 expo in South Korea (via). A demonstration by the company revealed the new display technology consumes 25 percent less power than the Eco2 OLED panel employed by the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Battery consumption goes down by 35 percent when compared to a similar-sized conventional OLED panel. The Eco2 OLED technology integrates the polarizer within the panel....
