First spotted by the folks over at 9to5Google, the new Material You redesign could be exclusive to the Pixel 6. We got a fair bit of information on the redesign of the Translate app a few weeks ago, so we knew this always was on the cards. The changes appear on version 6.25.0.02.404801591 of the Translate app, which is now widely rolling out through the Play Store. Users will first notice the most obvious change in terms of color schemes, which now blends with your phone’s wallpaper....

The Google TV app will now support live TV streaming apps Philo, FuboTV, and others. The update also brings a bunch of news and entertainment services to the app. The discovery features on the app have been upgraded to offer better recommendations (via The Verge). There’s also the ability to mark a movie or TV series as “watched” when they appear on the recommendations. This is designed to improve the quality of future recommendations....

This security camera actually comes with an integrated solar panel, and it can record in 2K resolution. It connects to your router via a 2.4GHz connection, and unlike some other services, a monthly fee is not required. The device also comes with a 600-lumen spotlight, which can switch on when motion is detected. The camera can also record during the night, in color, up to 8 meters away. It can also detect when a person is present, and record only then....

For instance, the new Halo View comes with a display for viewing and managing health metrics. The original Halo tracker didn’t have a display at all. So all interaction was either handled by voice, or details had to be viewed through the companion app on a connected smartphone. You will still likely have to use the app for some stuff. But now with the display, the Halo View enables some on-wrist visibility....
